It is just
mind-boggling to see how Christians in Malaysia showing their tantrums over the
name of the Muslim’s God. And all the while, we thought that Islam is their
greatest enemy where they even mock the name of ‘Allah’ in many occasions
already. Their followers would actually insult the name of ‘Allah’ on their
social network just because they like to see the Muslims get angry over it.
However, at the same
time, the Christians are also insisting to use the same name for their God in
Malaysia. The fact that they would make
this their ultimate fight and is willing to go to court for it, is simply an
over-reaction, even fishy and crazy.
Their reasons are
that it has been practiced elsewhere by other religions and that they need to
use the name to preach the Bumiputeras in Sabah and Sarawak. In a much simpler
explanation, their argument is that, the name ‘Allah’ is taken as a noun or a
word, not a proper name of God for the Arabic speaking societies.
I would say, never
mind what the Arabs are practicing because Malaysia is not an Arab speaking
country. What is more important to note
is that the world has the understanding that ‘Allah’ is an exclusive name, a
proper name of One and Only God, worshipped by the Muslims.
Ever since there was
Christianity, the Christians all over the world have no problem spreading their
religion without using the word ‘Allah’ when referring to their God. All the
while, it was just ‘Father’ or ‘Lord’ or even ‘Jehovah’ or ‘Yahweh’ and there
was also, ‘Abba’, but never ‘Allah’ for the Christians.
But somehow, the
Christians in Malaysia found that these names or reference have to be changed
according to the place and time. And so, there is an urgency and necessity to
change the name of the Christian’s God in Malaysia, to suit the name of the
most commonly practiced religion here, that is, Islam.
What these Priests,
or the churches or the devout Christians here failed to explain to us and the
court is that, how would using the same God’s name with other religion’s God
would serve their religion better?
Now that the court
has decided to favour the Muslims, would the Christian followers have problems
practicing Christianity? Would their
prayers not be answered? Would they be
living in sins? If this wouldn’t affect their
faith, then why all the tantrums and the madness?
In fact, wouldn’t it
be confusing? What if some of the
followers actually thought that they are practicing Islam and not Christians?
Or, perhaps, this is
just what the Christians plan to do.
Therefore, the next
question goes: How does falling into the
trick would get anybody into the Christian’s heaven? How does lying and confusing people over the
religion would get any preachers into the Christian’s heaven?
We can see now that
the Christians are always in dilemma.
Remember that it’s only until the 4thcentury AD that they finally
developed the concept of Trinity. And then, from there onwards, the Bible has
been going through many changes because the Christians can’t seem to be settled
for what their previous scholars had come out with.
Just like when they
claimed that every human are the same but yet they have different churches for
every ‘colour’. And now, the Christians
are not even sure of their God’s name.
By insisting on using
‘Allah’s’ name for their God, the Christians must be having doubts about their
trinity concept. ‘Allah’ in Arabic may be a compound word from the article,
'al, and ilah, divinity, and signifies "the god" par excellence.
But the notion of
‘Allah’ in Arabic theology is substantially the same as that of God among the
Jews, and also among the ancient Christians, with the exception of the Trinity
concept behold by the modern Christians. This, is clearly stated in the Koran: "Say
God, is one God, the eternal God, he begetteth not, neither is he begotten and
there is not any one like unto him."
And, "God has
not taken to Himself any son, nor is there any god with Him: For then each god
would have taken of that which he created and some of them would have risen up
over others." (23:91)
